Since 1949, the Malcolm Knapp Research Forest has hosted over 1,000 research projects covering a variety of topics and studies. Take a journey through the forest and get a closer look at what some of these projects entailed and discovered. Topics include:

  • Marion Lake then and now; 6,500 years of forest history
  • 100 years of logging and today’s sustainable forest management
  • Tree growth over time ,silviculture, forest health and genetics
  • Riparian stream research
  • East Creek and Jack Walter’s Golf Course

Facilitated by MKRF’s manager, Hélène Marcoux, Registered Professional Forester. Participants will meet at the front gate of the forest, and then be taken on a tour through the forest in the research forest van. This is a special trip to locations not often seen by the public. Light refreshments will be provided.
