Teen Leaders in Nature

We are looking for 5-10 motivated teens who want to develop their leadership, cooperation and communication skills while also strengthening their connection to the natural world. While the program focus will be on leadership and personal skill building, we will weave a love of nature throughout each day. Over the course of the week, participants will experience and practice different forms of leadership giving them a better understanding of which methods work for them both as a leader and as someone being led. The focus will be on experiential and explorative learning giving the teen leaders agency to make decisions and push themselves to grow.

This program includes:

  • Trip planning
  • Site and safety assessments (hazardous tree id)
  • Stewardship experience (invasive species removal)
  • Wayfinding
  • Role modelling for younger campers

DATES: TBD

TIME: 8:30am-3pm daily

COST: $375 +gst

At the end of the program, successful teen leaders will receive a completion certificate along with 32.5 hours of volunteer work that can be used to build their resume.
