A Note on Wild & Immersive in Williams Lake

Wild & Immersive will not be operating in Williams Lake for the 2026/27 school year. Registration this year was not enough to cover the cost of our instructors or to build the kind of community among students that this program is built on. After careful consideration, we made the difficult decision to pause the program here.

UBC Alex Fraser Research Forest remains fully committed to Williams Lake. Our land, our research, and our relationship with this community continue. This is specific to the Wild & Immersive program.

Wild & Immersive in Maple Ridge is not affected by this change and continues to run.

We don’t have a timeline for whether or when Wild & Immersive will return to Williams Lake. If you’d like to be notified should that change, contact us at wild.immersive.wl@ubc.ca.
