UBC Graduate Student Teaching Program

Wild & Immersive team teaching a group of kids about wild mushrooms

Gain teaching experience and science communication skills while lending your knowledge to the bright minds of tomorrow. Wild & Immersive’s UBC Grad Student Teacher program brings talented UBC graduate students together with Wild & Immersive’s Forest School program for ages 5-13.

Wild & Immersive operates an outdoor weekly forest school program for youth ages 5-13 on a variety of nature-based and environmental topics. Run out of the UBC Malcolm Knapp Research Forest in Maple Ridge, Wild & Immersive is looking for knowledgeable, energetic and passionate graduate students to be guest speakers for our forest school program. Graduate students will create a module on a topic of interest and will spend the day leading the module to the forest school class. Modules must include a hands-on activity.

*Please note that registration does not guarantee acceptance into the program. The registrant and Wild & Immersive must agree on the topic, date(s) and activities.
