Meet the Facilitator- Birch Bark Bakery
Nestled by the tranquil shores of Beaver Lake, Shannon O’Donovan runs a charming micro-bakery from her homestead in Beaver Valley called Birch Bark Bakery. Shannon has a passion for sourdough that began growing up in the Yukon where she was raised on her Mom’s sourdough bread. Once she had children of her own, she began a personal quest seeking wholesome, homemade bread. Shannon has transformed her kitchen into a hub of sourdough creativity and community.
In addition to baking, Shannon loves sharing her knowledge with others. She offers hands-on workshops, where participants learn the art of sourdough from starter to finished loaf. With a focus on sustainability and local sourcing, Shannon’s teachings emphasize the importance of connecting with nature through the food we create.
